At the beginning of each year students will meet with their advisors. In these meetings you can discuss your classes and receive guidance on what classes will aid your course/major. These meetings are for students to help settle in each year and know what to expect.
Student Services is a great resource for all students. They host a multitude of a events to teach skills and having services like nightline and ASC (Ask & Support Centre) to give students in St Andrews a place to turn to at all hours.

Student services is a great place to go get your self involved with as they can provide you with access to many different school run activities, such as skills classes, employment events, mental health workshops and more. A guide on what to expect is here.
Along with these benefits, student services also provides wellbeing support, students are able to receive group or individualised counselling sessions through the school..
Additionally each school has a wellbeing officer, meaning your schools do support you! You can find you who your officer is on your school website, or here. Most wellbeing officers have an open door policy, meaning they are happy to chat as long as they have the time!
The Director of Wellbeing, Caitlin Ridgway, is a sabbatical officer who works to support students through the union, which as a student at the University of St Andrews you have access to. She chairs several comittees focusing on student welfare:
These are are open to you as due to being a student, you are automatically a member of the Union. If you ever have any questions or need support there are so many safe and brave spaces for you to reach out!
