Exclusive Discounts: A Student's Guide to Savings

I’m sure everyone is pretty well aware of the many student discounts, as well as general discount schemes that are available in St Andrews, and UK wide. But for me personally, coming into first year I was overwhelmed by the amount of choice, and I found myself not making the most of discounts, which was a MASSIVE mistake because they save a ton! So here’s a super quick list of some of the best discount deals I always try to make the most of:
Tesco club card: Most people know about the tesco club card, it’s particularly helpful when you don’t want to spend an extra 50p on a meal deal, and it gets pretty good discounts all round.
Morrisons more card: This is one I didn’t have until just recently and it’s honestly a game changer. You get money off certain products in the same way you do with the tesco club card, but you also earn points when you spend, and with every 5000
Student Beans and Unidays: These are both student discount apps that are free to join, and give discounts at a huge range of stores, restaurants and pubs. I recommend downloading both apps, then just sign up for them individually and have a scroll through all the discounts they offer. The discount for most places can be used either online or in-store.
This last one is a bit out there, but could come in handy for international students, or just those of you who enjoy traveling, but I recently found out that certain airlines, such as Qatar and Etihad, offer student discounts on flights if you sign up for the schemes. As far as i’m aware other airlines might offer the same or a similar service, so I recommend looking into it before you book your next flight.
